BIOGRAPHY
Somatic Movement and Expressive Arts Therapist

Daphne Georghiou is a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist with ISMETA (International Somatic Movement Education and Therapy Association) and a certified Halprin Life-Art Process practitioner from Tamalpa Institute—the first in-studio training center for body-based Expressive Arts Therapy. After practicing for almost 8 years, Daphne also recently became an authorized Continuum Movement Teacher, by Continuum founder and somatic movement pioneer, Emilie Conrad. Daphne's work draws upon dance pioneer in the expressive arts healing movement, Anna Halprin. She has worked closely with Daria Halprin, cofounder and director of Tamalpa Institute; and she is also an associate Tamalpa and Movement Ritual teacher.  As a somatic therapist, Daphne also draws from her training as a Certified Acupressure Massage Therapist and a long-time trained energetic healer.

Additionally, Daphne is a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern close to licensure, and she holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute—a Jungian and Depth psychology based school.
